THAT WHICH LEADS TO ETERNAL GLORY

Philippians 2:5,8-9

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names,

Many believers live with that hope of eternal glory that we will enjoy dominion with Christ through eternity. There is a price.

Just as we learn from Christ Jesus, He humbled Himself in obedience and then obtained. Paul teaches that we should be like Christ.

Philippians 2:7

Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.

When he appeared in human form,

When I look at some supposed Christian leaders today I wonder whose example they follow. That mad rush for accumulation of wealth, power and relevance is a total contrast to what Christ sent us out for. I wonder, whom really they serve.

Help us Good Lord.

There is nothing wrong in having earthly wealth, but when it replaces God, then we have failed. Remember the best investment is still in humans. Your reward with the Father is mostly of the good done for fellow humans. Selah!

There is a particular nature that the believer must have, that is the nature Christ had. Listen, He was God John 1:1, 10:30, yet because He came as a man, He humbled Himself to obedience and died for us.

Imagine all the abuses insults, threats, mockery then being dragged naked all the way to Golgotha and finally nailed. Who was to benefit from all these - we humans (what excuse will you give for missing out on such great a salvation).

Let's look at it, when the Heavenly Father created the earth, it was man He gave the dominion to, however the enemy conquered man in convincing him to choose darkness, thus man lost authority of the earth to him.

Wait, what did the enemy sell to man lust and - pride: remember the three things, they are still his temptation and strategy today:

* Lust of the eyes;

*Lust of the flesh;

*Pride of life.

1John 2:16

For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Even his temptation against Christ after the fast was of these three elements. Selah

So for us to have eternal glory, we follow Christ's nature of humility, at the end what happened?

Philippians 2:8-11

he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Christ got not only the glory He had before He came to the earth but even more. Halleluyah

We too have a glory to obtain when we live like Christ, emulating His humility walking in this steps, of humility and obedience.

James 4:10

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

See as ministers of Christ, you don't need all the ego and pomp show, all the accumulations are nothing, it is the life you impart that gives you eternal reward. All the pride that makes you not work but want to be served, it leads you nowhere, your Heavenly file could be empty!

Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Matthew 20:28

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Please whose example are we following in these generation?

Lord help us. We let go every foolish pride and submit to the Heavenly Father to fulfil our purpose, call and ministry. It will be a win-win for us here and in the life to come.

Thank You Dear Father.

He calls us blessed.

Love
