CITIZENS OF HEAVEN
Philippians 1:27
Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.
Well, the heaven consciousness expected in believers have become hazy to some because they are too busy with another kingdom - the kingdom of this world!
We understand that the kingdom of these world was actually given to man (at his creation), however the same way Esau sold off his birthright for a plate of porridge, man sold off his dominion for the desire for what looks nice to the eyes, good to eat and could make one wise, AN ILLUSION!
How many still fall for this today?
When Christ came this was His message:
Matthew 4:17
From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”
Man was to be restored to the kingdom of heaven, for the power of the deceiver, the enemy, would be completely taken away from him and those who believe and endure would rule.
Paul reminds the church at Philippi of this truth:
Philippians 1:28
Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.
So we endure hardship, for we must also suffer for Christ sake because of His enemies, but we know that victory is ours.
So this must every believer do:
Colossians 3:1-4
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.
And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.
Let this never leave our heart, no matter the glory we see in earthly riches or splendour, we must not forget this truth.
Yes we prosper here and the time to come, however, don't live as if it is only in this life that you have hope. Remember your living here determines your living in the world to come. Selah
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
