STUDY THE WORD

Acts 17:11

And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth.

The people of Berea have been used as an example of serious believers, they were not presumptuous, NO, they searched the scriptures to know the truth.

No one should walk up to me and begin to tell me this or that, no matter what title the person bears. I want to search scriptures to see if it is true. I want to pray and listen to the Lord to confirm that message. For when the Lord sends a prophet to you, He confirms the message, Cornelius is a good example.

Laziness is not acceptable in God's kingdom, every one who serves the Lord must also be conversant with His word, if NOT, how do you please Him:

Psalms 119:11

I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Some may ask: "what of those who can't read":

The word of God can be read to them, for even when they gathered on the Sabbath, someone always read the scriptures to the people.

Luke 4:16-17

When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.

The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written:

No one has an excuse not to study the scriptures, you could read, listen, even watch. For:

2Timothy 2:15 

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Also,

2Timothy 3:16 

All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The word of God is available for us, let's eat it.

John 17:17 

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Understand that the Word of God only comes alive in the Word Himself. The word is Christ Jesus, without Him there is no word.

John 1:1-4

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He existed in the beginning with God.

God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.

The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.

Glory to God, we don't need another book, another prophesy or a religion. When Christ paid the price for all mankind on the cross He said - "it is finished".

Acts 4:11-12

For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, 

‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’

There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

In addition, you are made clean by the word for the word is truth:

John 17:17

Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.

Study the Word.

He calls us Blessed.
