LISTEN
Acts 16:6-7,9
Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time.
Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there.
That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!”
The mandate is:
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
However, we must remember whose mandate it is. He must yet direct, that is why they had to wait for the power from on high, the Holy Spirit for through Him Christ would direct them. It also applies to us.
Yes I have the zeal, which is very good, however I do not lead myself, Christ does, so I must listen to His instructions. Selah
The instruction could be don't go:
Acts 16:7
Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there.
Or a message to come:
Acts 16:9-10
That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!”
So we decided to leave for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God was calling us to preach the Good News there.
Thus, it is NOT wisdom to expend energy where you are not sent, leaving the place of your assignment.
May God grant us wisdom and understanding to know where He has sent us and to know where we ought NOT to go. He is in charge so we must listen to Him.
He calls us blessed.
Love
