WHO ARE WE - What is our Identity?

Acts 11:26

When he found him, he brought him back to Antioch. Both of them stayed there with the church for a full year, teaching large crowds of people. (It was at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians.)

Acts 11:26 

And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Jesus asked His disciples a question when He was here on earth:

Matthew 16:13 

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

What a man is called is an attribute of what he does and who he is, reading through the book of Acts, we see how the church began, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the works, persecution and the souls that were saved.

We read that the believers were first called Christians in Antioch, why?

They taught like Christ, lived like Him and did miracles like Him.

Today what do we see? How many can be compared to Christ, there is nothing like WWJD. We hear things like, this was not there in the time of Christ so we cannot say WWJD. Oh Christ did not need a private jet, but we need one now to reach the whole world. Hmm

My questions are? What world are you reaching? How did the message get to you? What are you even preaching or teaching? What exactly?

I wrote some years ago about the power of mammon(money) I said Christ only compared worship of the Heavenly Father to worship money, it was a very stern warning for those who are wise:

Matthew 6:24

“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

He said, "CANNOT"

Today how many gatherings would have been called Christians? 

How many? 

In what way do our gatherings, preachings and lifestyle relate to Christ? 

See following the Jewish worship, priesthood, clergy - laity all these are mere formalities, Jesus told the Samaritan woman:

John 4:22-24

You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews.

But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.

For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Salvation came through the Jews, yes, yet that does not mean that they had it right, if they did they would not have needed salvation.

All these religious gimmicks, abultions, sentiments, outside shows, sack clothes, ashes, incence and formalities are not the thing, the thing is SPIRIT and TRUTH. The Holy Spirit and the Word.

Isaiah 1:13-14, 17-18 

Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; [it is] iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear [them].

Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

How can we have such a great salvation and yet want to return to bondage. WHY?

Every christian leader should ask that question.

Do we actually think that all will end here? Because this is exactly the way many gathering live their lives. For some it is so bad that someone goes in to worship God and fellowship with brethren and the only thing that fills their head as they come out is MONEY, MONEY and MONEY. Ah

Matthew 6:24 

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Now we have gatherings that are mere business meetings, five ways to, seven steps to etc. All spiritual garbage. Don't we know where the business schools are?

A pastor will boast about having great wealth while there are members who cannot boast of three square meals, some are still looking for jobs, some cannot pay their children school fees, some cannot pay their rent. Hello, it is NOT the Heavenly Father you are serving it must be something or someone else. STOP THE NONSENSE!

Acts 2:44-46

And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all [men], as every man had need.

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Anywhere you go to worship and the centre is not Yeshua Hamaschiach, Jesus the Christ hello, you have missed it, simple.

Colossians 3:24-25

Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.

Do we think that we will NOT give account, hello, everybody will. See in Christ's parable of the talents every single one came to give account, be you faithful or unfaithful servant, hello, everyone.

God has no favourites, what this means is that everyone will be given that fair hearing. Selah

As God loved David so much, he yet had to pay for the wrong he did, and wisely he humbly accepted it remember:

Proverbs 3:12

For the lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.

Now listen:

John 3:16 

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Read the verse twice, do you see it, who does God love, everyone, BUT will everyone be saved? NO!Selah

We must be wise, we must walk in obedience, throw out all these gabbage, and hold on to truth, live it, be it. From the time they were first called Christians, the enemy had been trying to sow tares in the midst of the wheat, these held on for many years when the world powers suppressed the believers and controlled the church introducing a lot of trash but thank God deliverance came and now the word of God is NOT hidden from anyone. We are thus inexcusable.

Am I Christlike? Who am I?
