WHAT THE LORD WANTS
Acts 5:12,14,16
The apostles were performing many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers were meeting regularly at the Temple in the area known as Solomon’s Colonnade.
Yet more and more people believed and were brought to the Lord—crowds of both men and women.
Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil spirits, and they were all healed.
The purpose of the release of God's power was clearly stated by the Messiah:
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
That was what the apostles and first believers were doing, drawing many back to the Father. Salvation of souls is the kingdom business and surely that was the purpose of the miracles.
I believe our question today is, "what of now?". Is the power still active or did it go with the early believers?
As simple as the question is, the answer may not be clear to all. Yes, the power remains today, however I believe that we the people are the problem. We want to live in sin and expect the grace to abound.
The true focus which is on the Heavenly Father and His Son has been adjusted, our eyes is so fixed on the earthly that we do not experience the Divine.
Is there still strong passion for the souls of men, is the Father's intention still ours? Are we moved by compassion as Christ was, or are we totally self conscious?
John 8:29
And the one who sent me is with me—he has not deserted me. For I always do what pleases him.”
Can we say same?
One of the first question every believer should ask is what Paul asked:
Acts 9:6a
And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?
*Yes Lord, what will you have me do?*
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
