INFIDEL then HUMAN WORSHIP
Acts 10:15,25-26
But the voice spoke again: “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.”
As Peter entered his home, Cornelius fell at his feet and worshiped him.
But Peter pulled him up and said, “Stand up! I’m a human being just like you!”
Reading through Acts 10:9-33, we are instructed, let us look at two of these instructions as we study by the Spirit.
Firstly, who has a right to call another infidel? Specifically only the Lord has that right. For as the children of Israel related with the Egyptians, they looked at them as infidels, while the Heavenly Father actually saw them as legitimate children.
Genesis 43:32
And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that [is] an abomination unto the Egyptians.
The same way the Jews also will not sit at table with certain people, though this originates from the purity perspective. For one of the accusations they held against Christ was that ". . . he sat at table with sinners . . ."
Logically you will say these infidels are yet humans, carrying the same blood, flesh and have a soul like the rest of us, looking at it we see that what actually makes man relevant is the Heavenly Father. For we all need oxygen to breath, need sleep, need food, get weak, get sick sometimes and we will all die. This is why racism, tribalism and all these other vices seem so foolish.
Back to our texts:
The Lord has the final say, He determines who is acceptable and who is rejected -NOT MAN-. All from event of creation was leading to one thing, that all God's creation will be reconciled to Him through His Word, His Son, Yeshua Hamaschiach, Jesus the Christ!
2Corinthians 5:18
And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
So the Lord tells Peter:
Acts 10:15
And the voice [spake] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, [that] call not thou common.
Acts 10:15
But the voice spoke again: “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.”
A very big caution to all who yet practice tribalism, racism and all those vices. THEY ARE NOT OF GOD!
Everyone has been called to salvation - EVERYONE!
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Look at that verse again, He did not say God loved - Jews, Greeks, Nigerians, Europeans, Americans, Blacks, Hispanians . . . No God loved the world including every tribe, race or colour.
See our own ways and ideas do NOT matter it is the Lord's own that matters. Selah
Secondly:
Acts 10:25-26
And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped [him].
But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
The desire to be worshipped! Listen Christian believers or religious leaders, Christ did not give anyone the right to be worshipped No.
Isaiah 42:8
I [am] the LORD: that [is] my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
Leadership in the church is unlike that of the world, HELLO, they are two different systems:
Listen to Christ Jesus:
Matthew 20:25-28
But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them.
But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant,
and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave.
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
No matter whether you are pope, bishop, General Overseer or whatever title, you are not greater than Christ nor His apostles though!
Church leaders REPENT!
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
