DOES HE STILL SPEAK?

Acts 13:2 

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

This was still at the early stages of the church, there really was a lot of ground to be covered. The message of salvation had to reach the ends of the earth.

Christ said it when He sent out the seventy:

Luke 10:2 

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly [is] great, but the labourers [are] few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

So what is happening now?

What is our prayer and fasting all about today? 

Now let us not get it wrong we do need all the earthly help, money, food, shelter etc.

 However, when the Lord has provided these, the teaching we hear is of building empires. Hello, though there is nothing wrong with prospering to build empires for generations, there is yet some questions that have not been answered.

* How long exactly do you have to live?

* What price are you paying for it?

* Are you sure the children and generation you are building for will not squander it away or sell it off when they come of age or you are out of the scene

* What is the eternal reward for the empire you claim to be building?

So why do we wonder why we do not hear this type of leading.

I remember when I was chosen to preside over the ASF in my school days I had already been chosen to be the PRO for the professional bodies student chapter and the editor in Chief for the chapters magazine, I had taken my mind off fellowship leadership. I was not even in the fellowship that day. I was torn between the campus fellowship were I was committed in choir and sound engineering and just attended the Bible studies for the ASF. The guest minister who came to lead the prayers pre the inauguration of the new executives mentioned my name. I do not know him up till today and I have never met him.

Where is the flow of the Spirit that leads to direct messages/instructions from the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit cannot just be revealing about 

* who to marry, 

* business to venture in, 

* prophesy about who will win or loose a football match (childish)

*who will win or loose an election,

* or maybe just disasters that will come to pass

Where are Messengers sent. We see people who are already believers claiming healings and miracles. Where are the unsaved? Are all saved?

Is this the testimony we have today?

Acts 12:24

Meanwhile, the word of God continued to spread, and there were many new believers.

Well reading through you may ask, Am I NOT too hard on ministers and pastors?

Hello NOT me, but the Lord.

Matthew 24:45-51

“A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.

If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.

I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.

But what if the servant is evil and thinks, ‘My master won’t be back for a while,’ and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?

The master will return unannounced and unexpected, and he will cut the servant to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

It is not a play thing, to whom the Lord gives responsibility to lead, He expects good accountability. Not all these nonsense we see on the media. How can you have time for all those rubbish if you are really doing the Lord's business?

Are we really hearing from the Spirit? Or do we only take the messages that suits us.

I have cried to the Lord times ago to forgive me cause there were times I had resisted His instructions, we all need to do that too. Our ears need to be cleaned, that we may hear and accept the message of God's Spirit in the midst of all the messages calling for our attention. For ourselves and for the church.

Those days when prophets were sincere they could take messages for nation's and cause great turn around and victories. Today even messages of so called prophets to individuals cannot be fully trusted. Only a few are remaining. The true deliverance needed today is from: 

*bad motives, 

* self consciousness 

*and the love of the world.

Lord have mercy on my generation. May our hearts return to you. May we hear clearly from you and thus walk in obedience.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.
