ANGELS ON ASSIGNMENT
Acts 12:10-11
They passed the first and second guard posts and came to the iron gate leading to the city, and this opened for them all by itself. So they passed through and started walking down the street, and then the angel suddenly left him.
Peter finally came to his senses. “It’s really true!” he said. “The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!”
How much do we know of the ministry of Angels?
Angels are God's servants, they have hierarchies and they are as powerful according to their hierarchy. We have Waring angels, guardian angels, archangels and so on.
Angels are Messengers from God, they communicated with men after the fall. Some brought news, some came to destroy/war others had specific assignments. Remember that some angels came to commune with women here on earthly illicitly, we can imply that they are the ones that left their assignment and are left in everlasting chains awaiting judgements, we believe that they are the ones that operate as demons.
Jude 1:6
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
In our reading today we see an angel escort Peter out of prison, the power of that one angel was so strong that none of the guards or the people were conscious enough to notice them, they went through the first gate, the second gate and even the city gate, which opened automatically when they approached.
Notice the countenance of this angel, his presence was light, at his words the chains fell off Peter's hands, at his approach, sealed gates opened of their own accord:
Acts 12:7
And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon [him], and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from [his] hands.
Now what provoked the coming of the angel:
Acts 12:5
Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
- CEASELESS PRAYERS!
Never take for granted the importance and efficacy of prayers. It should be the backbone of every family, church, organization or nation. In praying You prompt the Father to send angels on special assignments for you.
From the times of old, prayer has been the solace and the weapon of God's people, let's take an example of King Hezekiah, his nation had been threatened by king Sennacherib, a king who had conquered many nation's, King Hezekiah had tried to appease him in so many ways but with no success, the king replied with insults and a public harassment in front of all the people. Hezekiah had sent a message to prophet Isaiah earlieron but when the lastest threat letter came, he knew he had to pray himself:
2 Kings 19:14-17
After Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it, he went up to the Lord’s Temple and spread it out before the Lord.
And Hezekiah prayed this prayer before the Lord: “O Lord, God of Israel, you are enthroned between the mighty cherubim! You alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You alone created the heavens and the earth.
Bend down, O Lord, and listen! Open your eyes, O Lord, and see! Listen to Sennacherib’s words of defiance against the living God.
“It is true, Lord, that the kings of Assyria have destroyed all these nations.
Did it work, yes, hear the ending of the message of the Lord after Hezekiah prayed:
2 Kings 19:32-33
“And this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria:
“His armies will not enter Jerusalem.
They will not even shoot an arrow at it.
They will not march outside its gates with their shields nor build banks of earth against its walls.
The king will return to his own country by the same road on which he came.
He will not enter this city, says the Lord.
What happened, listen:
2Kings 19:35
And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they [were] all dead corpses.
2 Kings 19:35
That night the angel of the Lord went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere.
It took just an angel to smite 185,00 trained warriors.
Yes when you pray you prompt God to send his angels on special assignments for you.
We must note this:
Angels don't answer to you they answer only to the Heavenly Father. Please read through all of scriptures, none of those who walked with God interacted with angels, they interacted with God and He sent angels. Moreso in the New Testament none of Christ's disciples or believers then interacted with angels, NO, they were sent to them by the Heavenly Father.
Understand this, even Christ in human form on earth did not send directives to angels. He left it as an exclusive right to the Heavenly Father, let us see scriptures:
After the temptation:
Matthew 4:11
Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
When He was praying before He was taken to be crucified:
Luke 22:42-43
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
He was praying to the Father, then angels came. Have you gotten it?
Okay the next verse should make it perfectly clear:
Matthew 26:53
Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
Matthew 26:53
Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?
You must have gotten it now!
We do not pray to angels or command them. Neither to any dead saint, or Mary or any other being. Our prayer is to the Heavenly Father through His Son, Yeshua Hamaschiach, Jesus the Christ. This is scriptures, this is truth. Selah
Angels are on assignment for us at the promoting of the Heavenly Father but we must not break protocol.
Remember that there are fallen angels and also replica of whatever it is in the Heavenly by the evil one, don't err. THE LORD GIVE US ALL UNDERSTANDING.
Hebrews 1:14
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Hebrews 1:14
Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.
Thank You Dear Father for the ministry of your servants, angels, to us. May they always be there to keep us from dangers and fight our battles.
Psalms 91:11-12
For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.
They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
We know who give the orders!
Glory to God in the Highest.
He calls us blessed.
Love
