WHAT GOD WANTS
Hebrews 13:15-16
Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name.
And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.
People always ask, how do I please God, how can I show that I love God. It is so simple, Jesus said:
Matthew 11:30
For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
So what is it? Believe in the Son and live in obedience. How do we do this, by walking in love.
Verse sixteen of Hebrews chapter thirteen talked of love:
Hebrews 13:16
And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.
Let's compare this to Christ's requirement to be at His right side:
Matthew 25:34-36
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.
For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.
I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
The true sacrifice to the Lord is a pure heart and the expression of a pure heart is doing good.
Listen, you can NOT say you are of the Father and the fruits you bear are of the evil one, it does not correlate. The true sacrifice to the Heavenly Father is embedded in His nature and the nature of the Father is LOVE. 1John 4:7-21.
This is what our spiritual leaders ought to teach us, to live a life worthy of the Lord, preparing us for the final wedding feast and bringing the revelation of the Lord to us. Are they doing so?
Hebrews 13:17
Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.
Spiritual leaders, who are they? Do you have any? What are their roles? This is an entire study.
A summary of it is what Christ told Peter:
John 21:17
A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.”Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.
Do we have real spiritual leaders today? Yes. They are faithful, having only the interest of the Lord at heart. We should listen to them just as we are taught. We never frustrate their efforts, instead we make it easy for them. Help us Good Lord.
However, there are some who do not have the interest of the Lord at heart, they have their own personal agenda. It doesn't really go beyond money and power. They keep talking about money, money and money, then they go on about how important and relevant they are, then you wonder who is serving who? Are they serving Christ or is Christ serving them. Selah
It is really essential to bring out these details because a lot of people have been carried away, just as Christ explained in the parable of the wheat and tares - both will grow together.
May the Lord direct His own to the right place. Amen.
See what Paul said:
Hebrews 13:18
Pray for us, for our conscience is clear and we want to live honorably in everything we do.
How many so called spiritual leaders reason this way? Pray for your leaders.
The Lord help His church. We will get it right.
In all, we must remember:
2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.
Here no pope, bishop, priest, overseer, pastor, prophet, elder or any other will appear for you. Hello, have they appeared for themselves? Be wise!
We know what pleases the Lord. Do it. Stop the excuses.
Jude 1:24-25
Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.
All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.
He calls us blessed.
Love
