LIFE IN THE NEW DISPENSATION

Hebrews 13:7-8

Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The new dispensation was revealed by Christ Jesus and it is all about grace and truth. Grace being the finished work of Christ while truth is living in obedience:

Ephesians 2:8-9

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

1 John 2:3-4

And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments.

If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth.

So the life we live in the new dispensation is not a careless life but a precious one. You do not buy an expensive ornament and dump it with the trash, NO, you preserve it where it cannot be contaminated. If it is of value you keep it with other precious items.

So we see in Hebrews chapter thirteen, the character of the believer in the new dispensation:

* brotherly and sisterly love continue

* care for strangers, it is not always about what you get, but show love to even those who cannot repay you

* feel the pain of others, those in prison, in bondage etc

* remain faithful in marriage (forget the world's opinion, they have gotten it wrong), adultery is a NO - NO

* do not LOVE money!!!

* be content (then you will not covet)

* follow good examples of those who taught you the word of God

Is this legalism?  No, it is the character of those who walk in the Spirit. There is a consciousness that we must not let go of, remember, a tree is known by its fruit. . . that is what Christ said.

For the spirit must supercede and control the flesh and NOT vice-versa. Galatians 5:16

These are times when some of these things don't look practicable, thieves come in as humble strangers, wolves come in sheep clothing also portraying themselves as teachers of the word. We must be wise. Again, by their fruits we will know them.

Remember the parable of the wheats and the tares, we all have to grow together, thus we must be strong and focused.

Hebrews 12:2

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Help us Good Lord.

In this dispensation we are champions, we win, we will not be deceived for the Lord has already received us. Glory to His Name.

He calls us blessed.

Love
