Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! 

His faithful love endures forever.

"It is indeed right to give Him thanks and praise", this is a reply in one of the chant used during the eucharist. One reason I will like us to meditate on today, on why we should continually give God thanks, is the battle the Lord fights for us behind the scene. 


Truly, if we sit back and count our blessings we will have innumerable cause to give the Lord thanks, however, most of the time we are in so much of a hurry to move to the next thing that we are not mindful of the great things the Lord has done for us:


Psalms 103:2

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.


Yes many, many blessings we could recount, if we sit back and reflect on how the years, months and days have gone by. 


Well today, let us give Him thanks for the unseen battles He fights for us. For what will we do if the Lord abandons us to face the unseen beings and forces that have only one agenda - to bring us down. 


Ephesians 6:12

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.


We must understand that the enemy did not come to negotiate, interact or play around:


John 10:10a

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. 


Psalms 124:2-3,8

What if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us?

They would have swallowed us alive in their burning anger.

Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.


Just as the children of Israel witnessed the Lord's victory over their enemies so we also experience this day after day, not all of them we see for how many can we be conscious of?


So let our thanks and praise never cease. We stay on in prayer, meditate in the word and continue our good deeds. For God's Spirit in us can only work out His nature, which is good. 


Thank you Dear Father for all you do for us. We will not just keep asking, Your praise will continually be in our hearts and on our lips. 


Praise ye the Lord. 


He calls us blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out. Please don't give up, God is still in control Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
