WHO WE ARE

Jude 1:1b

I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ.

Coming to the end of the year what the whole world has in mind is Christmas. Of course it is not the exact date of His birth physically on earth for no one knows the exact date, but we know He was born. 

Yes it has been secularized, in that a lot of fiction has been added to it, "father christmas", "santa claus", "the reindeer " etc. The main point is that someone can ask, what is the noise all about?

The noise is about "joy to the world", "glad tidings", etc

Then you can tell the story of the one who came and his coming caused a shaking to king Herod, a restlessness to the Jewish leaders and confusion to the powers of darkness. 

The same way people like Abraham taught his children about the Lord, though surrounded by so many pagans. 

His coming made man relevant again, for the wondered why man was created at all, and even more to be given dominion, he was tempted, he fell and they thought that was the end of it BUT... 

Luke 4:18-19,21

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. 

He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord's favor has come.”

Then he began to speak to them. “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”

John 1:12-13

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

Man is brought back to God, he eventually receives his dominion again. Glory to God. 

So we see that when the epistles are introduced, they tell us who we are:

Jude:

who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ. (We are kept safe in Yeshua, Jesus the Christ Psalm 91:1)

Peter:

1 Peter 1:2a

God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. (see Psalm 32:1)

Paul:

1 Corinthians 1:2b

 He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.

John:

2 John 1:3

Grace, mercy, and peace, which come from God the Father and from Jesus Christ—the Son of the Father—will continue to be with us who live in truth and love.

Yes we have not yet attained, but we are already candidates. We are hid by God in His Son, the Living Word. This is our identify, we belong to Him, we are part of His family and will also enjoy the inheritance. Glory to God. 

Colossians 1:12

always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.

Let no one tell you less this season. We are born of God and we are hid in His Son, we have an inheritance. Halleluyah 

We know who we are. 

He calls us blessed.
