WE CONTINUE THE WORK

Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Christ finished the work after the resurrection and the mandate was for His disciples to continue. We must understand that when God created man, be made him to create other men. He did not have to create again, he gave this power to man.

Genesis 1:27-28

So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

So God created the conducive environment then empowered man to procreate and fill the earth. The same way when Christ rose He ascended on high and released power for His people to continue the work.

2 Corinthians 5:18,20-21

And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.

So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

Ephesians 4:8,12

That is why the Scriptures say,

“When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to his people.”

Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

So we receive the full power and blessings of the resurrection not just for ourselves but to reach out to others. We continue the work.

John 21:17

A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.”Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.

Glory to God, we are part of the workforce one way or the another. Yes, there are tares who try to rub off here and there, we must NOT be distracted, frustrated or give up. The Lord does not leave us alone with the task.

John 17:18,20,26

Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world.

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.

I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”

Glory to God.

He calls us blessed.
