THE SON, ABOVE ALL

Hebrews 1:5-6,8,10

For God never said to any angel what he said to Jesus:

“You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.”God also said,

“I will be his Father, and he will be my Son.”

And when he brought his supreme Son into the world, God said,

“Let all of God’s angels worship him.”

But to the Son he says,

“Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice.

He also says to the Son,

“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands.

We must understand the person of the Son. He existed with the Father at the beginning and it was through Him that the Father created all things. John 1:1-4.

Read through Hebrews 1: 1-14, you will understand the person of Christ and how God addressed Him. Yes the prophesy called Him servant, remember that in doing God's will as we learnt days ago, "you serve" the same way we are His children but we are also His servants cause "we serve". The Lord give us understanding.

How did the Heavenly Father address Christ according to Hebrews 1, remember that Hebrews is quoting from the Torah, the old testament:

*

Hebrews 1:5b

“You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.”God also said, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son.”

Hebrews 1:6

And when he brought his supreme Son into the world, God said,

“Let all of God’s angels worship him.”

Hebrews 1:8

But to the Son he says,

“Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice.

*

Hebrews 1:10

He also says to the Son,

“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands.

*

Hebrews 1:13

And God never said to any of the angels,

“Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.”

So we understand that Jesus the Christ is not a prophet, not at all. For He is not a mere man but very God. As we see from scriptures.

He was not an angel, as we see from the scriptures, for all the angels worship Him.

Angels are God’s servant sent to serve those who are saved:

Hebrews 1:14

Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.

(This is why it is strange to see people worshipping or invoking an angel, you have no business with that, you only get yourself into trouble, for fallen angels, most likely, will be attracted. Remember that they are fallen because they left their positions, angels will not make that mistake. Get it right!)

Understand His interaction on earth. In tempting Him, Satan knew that He came for the right of every human. Remember that the earth was prepared for man.

Matthew 8:28-29

When Jesus arrived on the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gadarenes, two men who were possessed by demons met him. They lived in a cemetery and were so violent that no one could go through that area.

They began screaming at him, “Why are you interfering with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before God’s appointed time?”

(they knew they had limited time, it is foolishness to have a pact with a person whose time is almost up. Selah)

Take a journey back to Genesis, man was given the earth and its full dominion.

Genesis 1:26-28

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

This, the fallen archangel could NOT take, for he was fallen, so he tempted man and caused him to rebel against the Heavenly Father. In doing this man lost his authority and the enemy took charge of the world system.

So in seeing the Word, the Son of God, the enemy knew that something was up, his position was being threatened. Thus He offered all that Christ may bow. He had no clue what the agenda was.

1 Corinthians 2:7-9

No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began.

But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined

what God has prepared for those who love him.”

John 3:15-17

so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

It would have been a sort of victory to the powers of darkness when Christ died, but a shocker when He came to their domain.

Remember what Joseph said:

Genesis 50:20

You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.

So,

Philippians 2:9-11

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Glory to God.

Know what power is available to us, let us understand whom we serve, who prepares an inheritance for us. He is the way, the truth and the life. He is the fullness of the Godhead bodily. The one through whom all things were created. That is whom we serve. He is God revealed. Halleluyah.

Thus as you pray, worship, study the word and preach this gospel. Know that all power belongs to Him.

Revelation 1:18

I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

Glory to God.

He calls us blessed.

Love
