RESURRECTION WAS THE VICTORY

Matthew 28:6,9

He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.

And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him.

This issue of resurrection is the crux of the Christian faith, for if He did not rise, there would have been no salvation. This is why a lot of people and powers try so hard to disprove it. We will see that much later.

For the main problem of man was death, of course death came as a result of sin. Thus to overcome death one had to die to confront death in its own domain then overcome it.

Acts 2:23-24

But God knew what would happen, and his prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed him to a cross and killed him.

But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip.

For man went into the bondage of death, so Christ who was like the new man (First born of all creation - Colossians 1:15&18) also saw death but not to stay there but to have victory.

Paul explains this:

1 Corinthians 15:45,47,57

The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit.

Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven.

But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

So resurrection began with Christ Jesus, this was why it was necessary for Him to come, for without His death and victory there would be no resurrection.

John 11:25

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.

Glory to God.

So our victory in Christ Jesus is not restricted to this world alone it is for eternity. Praise to God.

Why will anyone take for granted this great assurance. No, we will not. This is why Paul says:

Philippians 1:21

For to me to live [is] Christ, and to die [is] gain.

It is a win-win situation for the believer, glory to God. You live a fulfilled life here and also have eternity well insured for you.

Thank you Dear Father.

You call us blessed.

Love
