MOCKING YOUR REDEEMER
Matthew 27:42-44
“He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can’t save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him!
He trusted God, so let God rescue him now if he wants him! For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
Even the revolutionaries who were crucified with him ridiculed him in the same way.
What was His offence? He called Himself the Son of God. The further went ahead to call Him the king of the Jews, for whoever was to save had to be a king.
You will appreciate the impact of this when you see Herod's response when he heard a king was born. It was similar to the same effect it had on Pharaoh when it occured to him that Israel may rise against the Egyptians. Both fear led to the massacre of innocent children.
If only they knew!
1 Corinthians 2:7-8
No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began.
But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.
The had no clue of the Heavenly Father's agenda, they had no clue of the Glory to come.
The same way Joseph's brothers had no clue of God's plan for Joseph when they sold him into slavery. If they knew, they would not have, for jealousy was their disease.
Who is trying to bring you down, who is thinking to do you wrong. As long as you are in Christ Jesus it is a waste of time. If only they know. That is why people wonder why we are not moved, it is not us but Him.
Romans 8:38-39
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So they mocked Him but they would swallow their words later on.
Revelation 1:7
Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven. And everyone will see him— even those who pierced him.
And all the nations of the world will mourn for him.
Yes! Amen!
So what category will you fall? Those who will cry and lament when they see Him or those who will rejoice? Of course those who rejoice because we have received Him. We are family and not foe.
John 1:12
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
What kind of life are you living now? Is it in honour of Him or in mockery.
Some do not remember who they are in Christ Jesus until they face challenges or difficulties. No, our life should continually be the victorious He made us to be, that is why we continue in the study of the word, prayers, worship and true fellowship.
They mocked the glory for they did not understand the story, they would be sorry while we bask in His glory.
Glory to the Heavenly Father.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
