LOVE - THE SEPARATOR

Matthew 25:44-45

“Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’

“And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’

When we say that "it is by grace that we have been saved through faith", the faith is a doing word. The faith is active, your faith causes you to have His nature and obey His commands.

The summary of God’s commandments is love.

Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’

This is the first and greatest commandment.

A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

And of cause God's nature is love

1 John 4:8

But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

And the evidence of us being God's own is our love:

1 John 4:7

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.

Now let us read through Christ's parable again:

Matthew 25:31-46. . .

Then we can also read

1 Corinthians 13:1-13. . .

We cannot say we love God or that we are His, without having active love:

1 John 3:17-19

If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?

Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.

The deciding factor on the day of judgment will be love. Selah

We can then pray this prayer as Paul prayed:

2 Thessalonians 3:5

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
