IT WILL YET WORK FOR GOOD
Matthew 26:2-4
“As you know, Passover begins in two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”
At that same time the leading priests and elders were meeting at the residence of Caiaphas, the high priest, plotting how to capture Jesus secretly and kill him.
When you watch a movie that has been shown to you previously or watch a football match that you already know the final score, you are not too emotionally neither do you get over excited because you already know the outcome before it ends.
Christ's disciples wondered at His calmness as He told them about His death, He knew why He came.
Matthew 20:28
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Of course this did not make the task easy or the pain mild yet the fact that He knew, made Him keep His mind on the goal. The enemies thought they were wise, they hid to plan His death, however they did not know that their evil plan was yet to fulfil God's very purpose.
For it was in envy and hate that Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery, however though it was a painful separation of a young boy from his loving father to bondage in a strange land, yet it was a voyage into royalty that will safe him, his family, Egypt and many nations in the time of famine:
Genesis 50:20
You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
Some people have built ministries and held on to fear because of the work of the powers of darkness. Yes, the bible says we should NOT be ignorant of his devices:
1 Peter 5:8
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
However they forget that the Heavenly Father and Christ Jesus are also at work, they have actually finished the work:
John 5:17
But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.”
So I am more interested in the Father's finished work for/on me that the enemy's fruitless works against me, for:
Isaiah 54:17
But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed.
You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you.
These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!
Halleluyah.
Galatians 1:4-5
Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
As we end the year, where is your focus, on Christ's promises or on the enemy's antics?
Our Heavenly Father is not limited by time or space, Daniel confessed that God was the changer of times and seasons
Daniel 2:21
He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings.
He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars.
Let whatever we face boost our trust in Him for He makes all things work for our good.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Never let your faith guard down, the enemy will not have His way, instead the Heavenly Father will have His way in our lives.
Lamentations 3:37
Who can command things to happen without the Lord’s permission?
Our trust is in the Lord, it is well with us.
He calls us blessed.
