RECEIVING FROM GOD

Matthew 21:21-22

Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.

You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”

This is one part of the believer's privilege that many have questions about. You hear things like "I asked the Lord for this or that but I did not receive it", "oh I had faith but yet I didn't get it"

The question is, is there a condition? Yes, Christ talked of it, He said we needed faith. Do we know what it means to have faith?  It is not just a feeling, it is actually a lifestyle.

Your faith in God must be reflected in your very lifestyle, it is not an "on and off" you turn on when you feel you need something. It is a nature. For the bible relates pleasing God with faith.

Hebrews 11:6

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

All the examples of faith we read in Hebrews 11 talked about what God's people did because of their faith, thus faith is active.

See what Jesus said:

John 8:29

And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Faith is not a spur of the moment feeling, it is a lifestyle. This is why in faith you cannot ask out of the will of the Lord.

Remember:

1 John 5:14

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

For truly faith comes from God's word, your faith cannot be a contradiction of God's will, neither should it cause your own destruction.

Romans 10:17

So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

For your faith is by His Spirit and His Spirit is in accordance with His Word.

So our request takes full attention when we are His and when we are in His will:

John 15:7

But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!

For when we are not in His will, we get it all wrong, desires are carnal then we ask amiss:

James 4:1-3

What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you?

You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.

And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

We are not of these natures, we are of the Lord, we are of faith.

Glory to God.

Dear Father by your Spirit and your Word I dwell in your will, as your child I ask and I receive for I do not ask amiss. Thank you Dear Father.

Receive more understanding.

He calls us blessed.
