MOST IMPORTANT

Matthew 22:37-39

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’

This is the first and greatest commandment.

A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees they came with their own trick question. This shows that there may have been some sort of rivalry between the Sadducees and the Pharisees. While the Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection the Pharisees believed in the written and oral laws of Moses.

So what did they ask? They wanted to know the greatest commandment.

What was this to achieve? Most likely series of arguments. For if you say this is the greatest, then they could argue on another, or even further ask why you break them.

What did Jesus reply? LOVE!

Matthew 22:40

The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

This cannot be overemphasized. Love is the bases of all the commandments. Love for the Heavenly Father and love for fellow human.

1 John 4:7-8

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.

But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

God is love!

If you do not get this, you have not gotten anything yet.

1 Thessalonians 4:9

But we don’t need to write to you about the importance of loving each other, for God himself has taught you to love one another.

For Jesus did not teach us to identify true disciples, prophets, believers and leaders by their gifts but by their fruits:

Matthew 7:20

Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

And the fruit . . .

Galatians 5:22-23

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Glory to God. The very nature of God revealed by the Word of God Himself, the Son of God. Halleluyah.

So once we get the summary of the law by His Spirit we can never be faulted.

Ephesians 5:1-2

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.

Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

When you read on these verses of Ephesians you see that love gives no room for sin. Glory to God.

We are not trapped in any bondage of legalism, we live out our new nature in Christ Jesus which is in love. We don't try to please God, we carry His very nature.

As your Father. . .

Thank you Dear Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
