DOING YOUR DUTY

Matthew 22:21

“Caesar’s,” they replied.“Well, then,” he said, “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.”

This verse was the response the Pharisees received from Christ when they sent their disciples and some supporters of Herod to tempt Christ, asking Him if it was right to pay taxes to Caesar. It gives us a good lesson on how we ought to relate with secular authority.

Of course "the give to Caesar what is Caesar’s" statement has been abused by some, who erroneously interprete it to mean that we can give bribes, this is far from the truth.

We have an obligation as citizens of a country, state, community or even organization to pay our dues. What other duty do we have to our secular leadership?

* Pray for them:

1 Timothy 2:2-3

Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.

This is good and pleases God our Savior,

* Be a good example:

Matthew 5:13, in your circle be that great leader you want your rulers to be.

* Give good counsel

Daniel was a good example here. Some may say I can not get to the authorities. No, times have changed, most leaders have social media handles where anyone could send messages too, also we have the leaders closest to us.

* Do your duty and do it well:

Daniel and Joseph are good examples for us.

Daniel 6:4

Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.

What a testimony, how many believers have this testimony? We ought to be better for we have experienced Christ Himself.

Help us Good Lord.

We also have our duty to God and one of them is shining as light in a secular world. There is a very good balance. For our nature by God's Spirit helps us to show good character and the gift of the Spirit help us to do exploits. Praise God.

It is a win-win for every believer even with the persecution, for it completes the christian's experience.

We will be found faithful, we will please the Heavenly Father continuously. The Lord will give us a good system and good leadership as we continue in prayer and walk our faith.

Glory to the Heavenly Father.

He calls us blessed.

Love
