WHO AM I?
Matthew 16:13,15
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”
Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?”
It interested Christ to know who people perceived Him to be. He did a lot of things day after day from miracles, to teaching the word to feeding the multitude. Yet in all, the people did not really have a full understanding of who He was.
However there were testimonies about Him all due to His works:
Matthew 16:14
“Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.”
When people testify about us, who do they say we are? Do we have a good testimony?
Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
How can you be associated with the Heavenly Father and people know you for evil works? It is not a good testimony.
Yes, people may not like you because of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, however they cannot change your testimony. The evidence of your good works cannot be hidden.
See the way Peter described Christ and it was the general perception about Him:
Acts 10:38
And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
Doing Good!
So, you claim you are of Christ yet you oppress those under you, you steal the common wealth, you are known to fight and quarrel altogether your testimony does not bring the Heavenly Father glory. Then your sonship is questionable.
Once again, we must understand that the people do not need to like you, yet they cannot deny your good works.
Listen Stephen was killed for his faith in Christ Jesus, yet all who were there knew that he was faultless.
It is important that we have a good name.
Philippians 2:13,15
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
2 Peter 3:14
And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.
The Heavenly Father knows who we are, moreso our very nature would reflect in the life of many. For truly our love of God will very well prompt us to love our fellow humans. 1John 3:7-18.
Who do people say that you are? Do you reflect the nature of your Heavenly Father? Be it at home, school, work, in church or anywhere for that matter!
Who does the Heavenly Father say that you are?
Who are you?
Dear Father may our testimony be good.
So help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
