THOSE WHO SHOULD UNDERSTAND

Matthew 13:9-11

Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.”

His disciples came and asked him, “Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?”

He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not.

There are things that are given to the children of God to understand, they are not literal but divine. The pertain to the kingdom of God here and after here. It is food to the believer, those who will inherit the kingdom of God. 

When Jesus talked to Nicodemus that night when he came to pay Him a visit, He said:

John 3:10,12

Jesus replied, “You are a respected Jewish teacher, and yet you don’t understand these things?

But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?

Thus the spiritual things are for spiritual people to understand. Thus, it is strange that people who say they are from Christ teach as if they have never met Christ. They say they are of Christ and their teachings are all about  earthy things, putting emphasis on things that will end here. 

See, these things are taught by the world and they even go further to give you a certificate that shows that you are qualified in those areas. If that is what the gathering of believers is all about, then what is the use, when those things are taught better by people out of the church, with qualification and experience. 

Spiritual teachings cannot be taught by the carnal world. It is divinely given. When God’s wisdom is exposed it follows with power. 

Ephesians 1:17-18

asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

It is this wisdom and knowledge that we are enriched with each time we come together to fellowship. The world cannot enjoy this, No, it is God’s gift to His children. 

1 Corinthians 2:6-7

Yet when I am among mature believers, I do speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind of wisdom that belongs to this world or to the rulers of this world, who are soon forgotten.

No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began.

If the church teaches this wisdom believers will not be complacent, instead they would live victorious lives for the knowledge of the truth sets you free. 

Hosea 4:6 

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Men who did exploits in the old testament were men of knowledge, filled with insight, men of wisdom. Joseph, Solomon and Daniel

Proverbs 4:7 

Wisdom [is] the principal thing; [therefore] get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

This is why we have God’s Holy Spirit. Not for what some people do today(s). 

What are you being fed spiritually in your gatherings? Are you growing, or are you just fed with junks. We believers are those chosen to understand the things of the Spirit, the secrets of the Heavenly Father is revealed to us. We are the light, let us not crawl in the darkness like those who have not believed. 

Heal your church O Lord. 

Help us Good Lord. 

He calls us blessed.
