THE TRUE FAMILY OF CHRIST

Matthew 12:46-50

As Jesus was speaking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him.

Someone told Jesus, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to speak to you.”

Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”

Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers.

Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!”

Who really are of the family of Christ? What qualifies anyone to be?

They are born again:

John 1:12-13

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

They are obedient, they do the will of the Heavenly Father:

Matthew 12:49

And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Yes, some have erroneously made a deity, or divinity of Christ physical family on earth, No, it doesn't work that way. Recognition in the kingdom of God has nothing to do with physical birth but the spiritual birth. That Christ came to this world from the womb of a woman does not make her divine or a deity, the same way the mother of the president of the country does not automatically become presidential. .  . In our opening verse, Christ Himself made it very clear. . . if we have an argument, it should be with Him. Selah!

So, our membership of God's kingdom has to do with our spiritual birth and obedience/doing the Father's will, if we miss this, we miss everything.

John 3:3-5

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Matthew 7:21

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Next, if you do not have His nature - Love - you are not His.

1 John 4:7-8

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.

But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Finally, remember that the Lord knows His own:

2 Timothy 2:19

But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”

It is so clear.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
