HATERS OF GOOD

Matthew 12:14 

Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

Most who have studied psychology in its diverse segments always come to the question of the source of evil in the hearts of man. What make a person or group of people chose evil over good. For they do want to agree that humans are naturally wired to love, care and have empathy. 

From scriptures we learn that the origin of evil in the heart of man came from the fall, the fall was as a result of man's disobedience in eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Thus man was exposed to that which destroys and had to contend with this evil as he fades away from natural earth. 

Now the malfunction of man, his interaction with diverse things including fallen beings affected his wiring and we got to the situation were the Heavenly Father said that the very thinking of the heart of man was evil. David said:

Psalm 51:5 

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

So can man choose to sin or not to sin? I once had an interaction with a certain distant work colleague from a particular religion who argued that the responsibility of every child born was not that of the parent, that God would take care of that child without any effort from the parent. I disagreed with that reasoning, stating that no child comes into the world by accident for when a man and a woman agrees to give birth to a child, it is obligatory for them to raise that child to adulthood and that they have to account for that child they brought into the world. Thus when God was talking of the reason He chose Abraham, He said:

Genesis 18:19 

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Thus many things influence the young mind and all of these accumulate to make that individual who they become. However when a person is grown, (far from any mental or psychological disorder) the individual is faced with the choice to walk in the part of righteousness or in the part of evil. I believe that this is the reason every adult will face judgment:

2 Corinthians 5:10 

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad.

So what is the solution? For everyone who believes in God, the solution is turning to Him. However many would ask, we hear of some who bear the name of the Lord and yet have not departed from iniquity! 

An example is the opening text of today, Christ had done a miracle, yes on the sabbath. The selected religious leaders refused to appreciate the good work done, they were only interested to see if a law was broken. Really what they had was just a hatred for Christ and that He had somehow taken their authority over the people, so they planned to kill Him. 

Man's fall came as a result of taking their mind off the creator and focusing on self and of course the lie of the enemy. After the fall these attitudes has always led to all evils done by man. 

Christ came to bring us back to the Father again. Our focus is brought back to the Father, not just in the natural but our very spirit is regenerated that is why He said - "born again". 

We must remember Christ's words interpreted by Peter:

1 Peter 1:23(KJV) 

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Peter 1:23(NLT) 

For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.

A person who is trapped in the corruptible (carnal) will be prone to that of which it is in bondage of, this is why Christ used the tree analogy:

Matthew 12:33 

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by [his] fruit.

Matthew 12:33

“A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad.

Thus anyone who chooses evil has not known God. The pharisees at that time did not know God they had their own personal agenda, same with many religious folks today, they are NOT driven by the love of God but a personal agenda of preservation and relevance. This is why they kill and attack others. Some want to fight for their God who is supposed to be Almighty! 

1 John 1:5-7

This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

You cannot live or practice evil and yet claim to be of God! 

Let our ears hear and understand.
