A LITTLE LEAVEN

Matthew 13:31-32

Here is another illustration Jesus used: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field.

It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches.”

When Jesus ascended He left a handful of men and women, who had been with Him, they had specific instructions. Firstly they were to wait till His Spirit had come on them, then they were to - 

Matthew 28:19-20

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

So a little metamorphosed into great and filled the whole earth. Just as Daniel saw in the king's vision:

Daniel 2:34-35

As you watched, a rock was cut from a mountain, but not by human hands. It struck the feet of iron and clay, smashing them to bits.

The whole statue was crushed into small pieces of iron, clay, bronze, silver, and gold. Then the wind blew them away without a trace, like chaff on a threshing floor. But the rock that knocked the statue down became a great mountain that covered the whole earth.

Psalms 118:22

The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.

So did Christ liken the kingdom of God. No single person's contribution to God's kingdom is a waste, every effort and investment to God's kingdom bears fruit and great it is. For truly no one can really do anything against the kingdom, but for the Kingdom(the wise will understand). 

The same way that little yeast leavens the whole loaf, that good gesture can spread love to all part of the body of Christ. 

Matthew 13:33

Jesus also used this illustration: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.”

Also that little evil could also set up a ripple effect to cause discomfort to the body of Christ. 

For one statement that has caused havoc to good is "IT DOESN'T MATTER", well that little you think doesn't matter can become the "subject matter"! Selah

Let me take an illustration from the children of Israel being led by Joshua to the promise land. One man Achan, took one of the articles from Jericho that God said was forbidden, no one knew, however it cost the whole nation a loss against a small city, Ai. The action seemed little, and it seemed that no one knew but nothing is forever hidden and it does matter. 

Especially if you represent Christ in any little way, what you say, do or even what your mind dwells on matters. A little leaven leavens the whole loaf. Talk less of when you are a leader. You cannot be careless, you must be careful. 

Titus 3:8

This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone.

Your leavening should be of good yeast, that when it spreads it causes good all round the body and not harm, discomfort or sin. 

For we are born of incorruptible seed and not corruptible, we must show forth the praises of Him who brought us out of darkness into His marvelous light. Glory to God. 

1 Peter 2:9,12

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

I wonder how a believer will still be popularly know as wicked, a cheat or a backbiter. It does not correlate. The fruit is a product of its seed. 

We are of love and we do good works, this is our nature, this is our DNA, for we are of the Heavenly Father. John 1:12. 

This is the same as false teachings, it eats its way through the minds of the hearers it even goes from generation to generation and to blot it out could be very difficult. 

Galatians 5:9-10

This false teaching is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough!

I am trusting the Lord to keep you from believing false teachings. God will judge that person, whoever he is, who has been confusing you.

This is why the believer cannot play with two things. God’s Spirit within Him and His written word. For though everything will pass away including the initiators of all these false teachings, the word of God remaineth. Study it, what is your excuse? You have it, read it. 2Timothy 2:15.

My prayer as a teacher, is to never lead anyone astray, what the Lord does not say I will not teach, neither what the Lord has not brought to my understanding. For I am not representing myself (of my own I am nothing) but I represent Him who knows all things, created all things and is above all things. Glory to His Holy name. 

We will display the glory of our Lord. 

He calls us blessed.
