WHERE IS YOUR HEART
Matthew 6:21
Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
We are in the seasons where the consciousness of God is far from the heart of people, even so those who ought to be called believers. It seems we live as if the Heavenly Father has abandoned His creation. As if it is a different, materialistic God we serve.
I recently came in from a somewhat remote Island, looking around I could see that there where churches all around almost all denominations were well represented and most of the people especially women went for programmes day in day out. Notwithstanding this, the people are generally labelled as WICKED!
We see one community not in good terms with the other, one is quick to defraud the other, marriage is a mirage for many, cause neither the man nor the woman is willing to stay with a person. The males are by default lazy, they do not have a definite jobs or business neither do they farm or fish. All, most specifically the men seems to look out for free money. The work(s) is done generally by outsiders. They all seem to seek for free monies and thus evil reigned.
Yes, in newer teachings there have been the emphasis on the christian's prosperity, some of these teachings have been misguided and misinterpreted to counter Christ's teaching:
Matthew 6:19-20
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.
Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.
Where did it come from? New Testament? No, listen:
1 Timothy 6:7-10
After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.
So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.
But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
However some have been called or will I say be favoured into earthly wealth and this is the admonition for them:
1 Timothy 6:17-19
Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.
Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others.
By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.
This has made it clear that what is important is the eternal and that should be the teaching of every minister. It is not the duty of the minister to teach things like "how to be a millionaire" etc. See there are wisdom that are taught to help the believer, yes brethren to be financially wise, prudent and fulfil purpose. However, Christ never sent anyone to go teach people how to make money. NEVER!
Listen:
Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Every believer must be out doing business, and listen, whether you are a believer or not, every human by default is meant to prosper in their endeavour. If a believer and a non-believer work in the same company or organization in the same level, they should both be paid the same wages. Same thing if a believer and non-believer sell a particular product they should be talking of the same profit. (The believer should even be more prudent in adding profit, because of their fear of God).
See, the prosperity preachings come from the old testament. (Do your check) and it is most times misinterpreted. Salvation has gone from only the Jews to everyone who believes!
Now is it that the believer does not prosper or should not aspire to prosper, NO, prosperity goes beyond money. Then N/B wealth given to you is for a purpose, not just to be stored, or spent lavishly, hello: It will be accounted for:
Luke 12:48
But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.
The summary is this, the mind of the believer should be in the eternal. The Heavenly Father did not save you to come pursue after money (where is the difference between you and the unbelievers).
Matthew 6:31-32
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’
These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
There have been a lot of err teachings in the denominations here and there. The minds of believers have been so caught up into the world and its system that we wonder if the generation have any place in God's kingdom. Are they really serving the Living God or serving mammon?
Where is your heart?
Ministers, Teachers, Pastors, Evangelists, Spiritual leaders is it Christ we serve or someone else, what are we teaching the people?
We have been made to prosper by default and as God's own He works things to our favour. However is our heart with Him or have we sold out our soul? Is His Spirit still directing us in all things. Is He truly Lord of our lives or has something(s) else taken His place.
Help us Good Lord.
May we all be rightly guided.
He calls us blessed.
Love

May the Lord lead us not to temptation that will lead us to struggle beyond His will. Good morning
