LOVE UNIVERSALLY

Matthew 5:43-44
“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy.
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!

How easy is it, to love those who hate you?

What makes this person and that person your enemy in the first place?

* Some were once known as your friend(s);
* Some came to hate you because of what they heard about you;
* Some just hate you for no just cause;

Psalms 35:19
Don't let these liars, my enemies, have a party at my expense, Those who hate me for no reason, winking and rolling their eyes.

For the believer we have those who hate us because of our faith in Christ Jesus.

1 John 3:13
So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.

John 15:18-19
“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.
The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.

Well, the general rule is to love them all the same. "For your real enemy is the devil!".

Christ showed this example:

Luke 23:33-34
When they came to a place called The Skull, they nailed him to the cross. And the criminals were also crucified—one on his right and one on his left.
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.

Yes, Christ knew He was to suffer and die, however see what scriptures say:

Isaiah 33:1
What sorrow awaits you Assyrians, who have destroyed others but have never been destroyed yourselves.
You betray others, but you have never been betrayed.
When you are done destroying, you will be destroyed.
When you are done betraying, you will be betrayed.

Psalms 1:4-6
But not the wicked!
They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.
For the lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

The lot of the wicked is destruction, however which is better: An evil man perishing or repenting to do good works?

Stephen understood this, he must have learnt it from Christ Himself, for He had the Spirit:

Acts 7:59-60
As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
He fell to his knees, shouting, “Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!” And with that, he died.

Now look at it child of God, which is better: Saul who was part of the killers, destroyed for the evil he did OR the new Paul who he became, who went ahead to do great work of ministry especially to the gentiles?

Love is the best way:

1 Corinthians 12:31, 13:13
So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts.But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

No matter who is in the picture, friend or foe, our duty is to love. Why should I carry about the bondage of hate? "Who that one help?"

Romans 13:8
Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.

So love!

You are then free, do we know the weight of hate, revenge and grudge, it kills, why carry such a heavy burden?

By the way, you cannot just like everybody, there are people you are more favourable disposed to another, even as parents. However we must have the general rule of "love universal" we by default love everyone. The measure is another discussion.

The love we have must be "the agape", for if we wait for the best from people, or for something to attract us first, we will miss it.

Christ's example was before we even knew Him, He died for us?

Romans 5:7-8
Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good.
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

This is the greatest love of all, that all can be saved. Why should anyone be entrapped in religions and self righteousness? Accept this love and walk in it.

We are better of in love. We love just as Christ loves.

He calls us blessed.

Love

  1. God owns everything on earth and created them all for goodness. Above all, everything created by god were see to be good by him. Therefore, we must note anything on earth including any of our fellow human beings. But everything is not for our use or food. Good morning
