IT IS WISDOM TO OBEY
Matthew 7:24-25
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.
It is wisdom to live a life of obedience to the Heavenly Father. It was a very lengthy teaching Christ gave on the mount. It took three long chapters Matthew 5, 6 & 7. The Lord opened our eyes to behold wondrous things out of the word, yes the instructions of the Heavenly Father now revealed by the Word Himself, that we can behold without the veil.
Hear what they people said:
Matthew 7:28-29
When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching,
for he taught with real authority—quite unlike their teachers of religious law.
Yes for He was not telling them about someone or something else, He was revealing Himself, for He was the very Word:
John 1:1-4,14
In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He existed in the beginning with God.
God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.
The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
Yes the Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us!
Our duty is to sink in His teachings and walk in obedience. The summary of which is Love.
For there is no other foundation laid than that which has been laid, which is Christ Jesus:
1 Corinthians 3:11
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.
Yes, without Christ Jesus you have not began, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. John 14:6.
Then if you get the foundation right, you begin to build.
The foundation cannot be right if you build it on the wrong premise, it cannot be built on iniquity, No, it is built on righteousness. Not yours but His, you surrender totally. In surrendering to Him, you resist another. Selah
2Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Yes for many have faulty and shaky foundation, you cannot have Him as Saviour and then resist Him as Lord, it doesn't work that way. He has to be Saviour and Lord. Grace and Truth. Selah
Read through these three chapters again - Matthew chapters 5, 6 & 7, our spirit must digest and understand our nature as God’s own. The true character of those who will not be rejected. We miss it when try so hard to seek our own self worth, pride and relevance, it is vanity. God’s Spirit helps us to live the very nature of His Word. We stay out of trouble and more like we see of Joseph and Daniel, they can search all they like they would not see any fault in us.
We may think that people are getting the better of us, No, we are triumphant people, for the Lord always steps in when we do not tussle the Lordship position with Him. To make it all easy, His Spirit has been released to us, so it is NOT our physical nature battling to keep up, No, it is His Spirit empowering us, leading us and instructing us as we go day by day:
John 14:26
But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
Glory to God. He has done it all, we just fit in through submission and obedience. We have the Sure Foundation. We walk in obedience.
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
