HEALING
Matthew 8:17
This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said,
“He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”
Will there be a need for healing if people do not get sick? No. Thus it is not that ailments will not rise, what the bible teaches is that His healing is available. It is when Christ returns that He rid the earth of all ailments.
Someone would say, those Christ healed were not saved. Hmm, hello the disciples even Paul talked of some of believers who were ill.
2 Timothy 4:20
Erastus stayed at Corinth, and I left Trophimus sick at Miletus.
Philippians 2:26-28
I am sending him because he has been longing to see you, and he was very distressed that you heard he was ill.
And he certainly was ill; in fact, he almost died. But God had mercy on him—and also on me, so that I would not have one sorrow after another.
So I am all the more anxious to send him back to you, for I know you will be glad to see him, and then I will not be so worried about you.
So is it God's will that we should be sick, NO, however no matter how anointed or spiritual you are the human body degrades by default and the developing world brings with it things that are against perfect health. Thus the need to maintain hygiene and good health practices.
See, the fact that you are of good health should not make you think you are better than another, there are varying reasons why people get sick. Thank God for your own health, and in it still be careful, don't misuse your body.
Yet in all the Lord says He will heal us, yes, prayers, laying on of hands, anointing with oil, taking water or even a natural or synthesized drug could bring your healing, God can work in any of these ways.
No matter what we have experienced, heard of, or our philosophy, Christ is still the rapha, He heals!
There are also varying reasons why this person or that person doesn't get healed, that doesn't change Christ's healing power. . . we only know in part. . .
As we learnt in our previous study, willingness is also involved.
No matter what, let nothing shake your faith in Christ's healing power.
Lord, we trust you for good health, we know your stripes were received that we should not remain in sickness. We receive grace to be of good health. Thank you Lord.
He calls us blessed.
