BE FRUITFUL

Matthew 3:8-10

Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.

Don’t just say to each other, ‘We’re safe, for we are descendants of Abraham.’ That means nothing, for I tell you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones.

Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.

This is what some people mistake for returning to the bondage of the law. No, it simply means, live like who you are!

Christ reiterated it in John 15:

John 15:1-2

“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener.

He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.

You don't just claim a position you must prove your worth, bear fruit.

It is not about being the president, governor, minister, senator, legislator, managing director, CEO or head. What do you have to show for it, what is your report card? How many lives have you made better, have you served the people well? Are their resources and the common wealth well utilized and properly accounted for? Have that place become better because you are there. Are the people's lives the better for it?

You spiritual leader, are you ministering to your people or feeding them junk? Are you bearing fruit? Has money, fame, dominance and search for relevance, replaced your Heavenly mandate?

Dear believer, are you fruitful or just drifting through life? Is money your only goal? What can you show, what is your record card?

Dear parents are you fruitful with your children, are you good examples? Are they truly the fruit of your womb or something else?

Listen, fruitfulness is the key. . .

Luke 13:6-9

Then Jesus told this story: “A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed.

Finally, he said to his gardener, ‘I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’

“The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer.

If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.’”

See fruitlessness leads to destruction "cutting down", however the Heavenly Father is merciful, He gives us time, He is patient with us, however, it is for a time.

Start bearing good fruit today.

Begin with the vine Himself:

John 15:4-5

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart me you can do nothing.

Dear Father help us abide in you that we may remain fruitful. Amen.

He calls us blessed.
