STANDING STRONG

1 Corinthians 10:12
If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.

The believer faces temptation, yes, for it is when we overcome temptation that we win.

The book of James explains to us that we get tempted when we are carried away by our lust. The earthy is always dangled in front of us. "Should we, or should we not?". It is for us to make the right choices. This is why we walk in the Spirit that we may not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

We have people that are of the opinion that we should neither be tempted or tested, that man should face no challenges. Some believers are even sold this "non-truth" at the point of salvation that they later on get into difficulties or confusion.

The truth is that we all face temptations and trials:

John 16:33
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

However, the Lord does not leave us alone, though He allows us go through it. Look at Christ it was after the first three temptations that the angels came to minister to Him (compare with Adams temptation - you must prove yourself!)

He makes the way out of it.

1 Corinthians 10:13
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

We cannot afford to err, we do not live careless lives. 1 Corinthians 10, explains to us that the record of the children of Israel in the wilderness stands as an example to us not to err as they erred. We must not make the same mistakes.

1 Corinthians 10:4-6
and all of them drank the same spiritual water. For they drank from the spiritual rock that traveled with them, and that rock was Christ.
Yet God was not pleased with most of them, and their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
These things happened as a warning to us, so that we would not crave evil things as they did,

What did they do?

1 Corinthians 10:7-10
or worship idols as some of them did. As the Scriptures say, “The people celebrated with feasting and drinking, and they indulged in pagan revelry.”
And we must not engage in sexual immorality as some of them did, causing 23,000 of them to die in one day.
Nor should we put Christ to the test, as some of them did and then died from snakebites.
And don’t grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death.

We learn from these mistakes, we do not repeat them:

Help us good Lord.

What happens most times is that we think we are strong. See if you have not faced the temptation, you have no idea of your strength. You are tested to be trusted. See everyone must prove their worth. Even Christ was tested, who are you NOT to be?

1 Corinthians 10:11-13
These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.
If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

The Lord has helped us and He will keep helping us. Glory to His name.

Even if we err, His mercy is with us. We will not be condemned. However we do not err, for we know the truth.

Let the love of the Heavenly Father reign in our hearts. Praise the name of the Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
