MOCKERS

2 Peter 3:4
They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

Yes, to man the second coming of Christ seems to have taken too long. Some would say, many have lived before us, is it not more than 2,000 years. Apostle Peter gave the right answer:

2 Peter 3:8-9
But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

The Heavenly Father is not limited with space, time or matter. It is we humans, who are limited by those things. We are the ones who could grow impatient, how long exactly can we live here, just a limited time.

See, Abraham was promised to be the father of many nations that his children would inherit the promised land. This did not happen in years, he Abraham had left the scene yet, his descendants lived many years before the breakthrough to live in Egypt yet more than four hundred years they spent as slaves in Egypt before freedom came to them and yet still more years before they entered the promised land. Do you know how many generations it took?

Do you know the length between the fall of man and the time it took the Messiah to be revealed?

God's timing is different from ours!

2 Peter 3:8
But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.

Secondly God's nature is love.

Ezekiel 33:11
As surely as I live, says the Sovereign lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?

Everyone on earth must have the opportunity to hear the gospel, the salvation of the Heavenly Father which is through His Son.

Matthew 24:14
And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.

The mockers will come during the last days, they would think that they have a valid point even in their foolish presumptions.

We must remember that the day a person dies, the end has come for them already. Selah

What of those who are in the place of steward (though every believer is a steward of the Lord), some called by Christ, some of their own volition: they have become mockers, doing all sort of nonsense in the name of the Lord. Yes, they see that the Lord has tarried, some of them do not even believe that He is returning, so they have sold their soul to the enemy and have taken up his duty, to deceive many, take advantage of their vulnerability and ignorance to enrich themselves:

For no one who awaits the Lord will allow themselves be spotted with the evils of the world.

Matthew 24:45-51
“A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.
If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.
I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.
But what if the servant is evil and thinks, ‘My master won’t be back for a while,’
and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?
The master will return unannounced and unexpected,
and he will cut the servant to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The Master should return and find us in our duty post. He must meet us waiting:

2 Peter 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.

Matthew 25:13
“So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.

Mark 13:35-36
You, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know when the master of the household will return—in the evening, at midnight, before dawn, or at daybreak.
Don’t let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning.

Be at your duty post, don't give in to mockers. Be always in the Spirit. For the Lord will surely return and the time draws near. We may not be here when He returns, however we must be found worthy when we leave here.

We must remain faithful.

The Lord will help us.

He calls us blessed.

Love
