LIVE LIKE WHO YOU ARE
3 John 1:11
Dear friend, don’t let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know God.
It is as simple as that:
The nature you carry when you are saved is God’s nature, and this nature is good.
Romans 12:1-2
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.
Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.
There is no way the grace of God correlates with evil works. NO
Ephesians 5:8-9
For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!
For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.
Live like who you are, bear the fruits from your tree.
Enough of people doing evil in the name of the Lord.
Look at John's testimony of Diotrephes it was not a good one, yet he was leading:
3 John 1:9-10
I wrote to the church about this, but Diotrephes, who loves to be the leader, refuses to have anything to do with us.
When I come, I will report some of the things he is doing and the evil accusations he is making against us. Not only does he refuse to welcome the traveling teachers, he also tells others not to help them. And when they do help, he puts them out of the church.
Now you who lead, what is your motivation? Is it born out of the love of the Heavenly Father and love of the brethren? Or is it out of personal gain, the urge to be in charge, the battle for relevance which births lust and sin?
"who loves to be leader!"...
People forget that to him much is given, much is expected, Luke 12:48; for you who has the position will account for more when we come before the judge, Jesus the Christ.
Live like whom you are, if you are born of God, live by his Spirit, display His nature.
Look at the testimony for Demetrius!
3 John 1:12
Everyone speaks highly of Demetrius, as does the truth itself. We ourselves can say the same for him, and you know we speak the truth.
For light is light. If people hate you, let it be because of your good, that you are of the Lord and please Him. It should never be because of your bad character or your evil deeds. For you have no profit, you actually deserve it if you are hated for being evil.
However you profit if you are persecuted for the sake of the Lord.
May we always bring the Father joy, may we never grieve His Spirit, who is our seal that we are His own. Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
