DO NOT RETURN TO SIN, BEWARE OF FALSE TEACHERS

2 Peter 2:14
They commit adultery with their eyes, and their desire for sin is never satisfied. They lure unstable people into sin, and they are well trained in greed. They live under God’s curse.

The nature of those who have rejected the Heavenly Father is displayed by a heart that desires against His will. The heart that dwells in sin and has made it a way of life, even after they have known the true light of God.

Some of them were called as light but have derailed to do the work of darkness. Like Balaam of old who for the lust of money was on his way to curse Israel and had to be spoken to by a donkey to stop his madness:

2 Peter 2:15-16
They have wandered off the right road and followed the footsteps of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong.
But Balaam was stopped from his mad course when his donkey rebuked him with a human voice.

They have chosen evil over good. Yes, the world is full of evil, yet we are made to standout as light in the dark world. We are not to conform, but to be transformed. A renewed mind that constantly joys in pleasing the Heavenly Father.

Lot was in the midst of terrible people, yet he refused to compromise.

2 Peter 2:6-8
Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people.
But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him.
Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day.

Be confident that the Lord knows how to save His own while bringing judgment on the wicked. Just stay on the right path.

Some of them pose as teachers, many posing as ministers of the Lord. They deceive many, they promise freedom, but they are in bondage.
Because you are in bondage to whomever you obey. To sin for condemnation or to righteousness for eternal life.

2 Peter 2:9,17-19
So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.
These people are as useless as dried-up springs or as much blown away by the wind. They are doomed to blackest darkness.
They brag about themselves with empty, foolish boasting. With an appeal to twisted sexual desires, they lure back into sin those who have barely escaped from a lifestyle of deception.
They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.

For the believer must dissociate themselves from all these evils/people.

We cannot afford to return to sin, we must NOT take in our vomit! For the end would be disastrous:

2 Peter 2:20-22
And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before.
It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life.
They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”

We must stay strong, stay unshaken and stay faithful.

The time is drawing near.

It is time to set our minds fully on our Redeemer, there is no time to waste.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.
