WHAT ARE YOU SOWING?
Hosea 10:12
I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love.
Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’
The display for all to see and that which is available to eat is the FRUIT!
However the fruit is a product of its planted seed. What have you sown?
Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
In the prophesy of Hosea, the Lord declared to the people the aftermath of their sowing:
Hosea 10:12-14
I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love.
Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’
“But you have cultivated wickedness and harvested a thriving crop of sins.
You have eaten the fruit of lies - trusting in your military might,
believing that great armies could make your nation safe.
Now the terrors of war will rise among your people.
All your fortifications will fall just as when Shalman destroyed Beth-arbel.
Even mothers and children were dashed to death there.
It is simple - "you reap what you sow"
You cannot continue in wickedness, doing the work of darkness and expect to reap the benefit of light. No. If you will enjoy the benefit of light, you walk in light.
For when you come to the Heavenly Father, He brings you into a new citizenship, and every country has its nature, attributes and characteristics.
You cannot come to Christ and be fed with His word then produce darkness or unrighteousness, No, you bear the fruit of the seed sown in you.
Philippians 1:11
May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
We must sow right to reap right.
We cannot sow to the flesh and expect to reap in the spirit.
Galatians 6:8-10
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
The flesh craves for the things of the world, for it is earthy. The spirit craves for the things of God, for it is spirit. The one you feed is the one that will have preeminence.
Galatians 5:16-17
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
He further makes it clear:
Galatians 5:19-21
When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,
idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
In contrast, this is what the Spirit produces:
Galatians 5:22-23
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
We must sow in the spirit:
Galatians 5:24-25
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.
Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.
Yes, we follow the Spirit leading, we do not do the work, the Spirit does, all we need to do is to follow.
Jesus told that young rich man:
Mark 10:20-23
“Teacher,” the man replied, “I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.”
Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
At this the man’s face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions.
Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!”
It is easy to accept the new birth, to try to obey some sort of rules, however most people have problem with following!
For the planting season is not easy, it follows with it more than the initial stage, it takes a while to get to the harvest season. This is why there is no way you can work in the Spirit without patience.
James 1:4
But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
What have you been sowing, what are you sowing, what are you planning to sow?
Remember you are what you are today as a function of what you sowed or did not sow yesterday. You will be tomorrow a function of what you sow or did not sow today. Selah
Are you sowing good seeds, in your life, the life of your children, those who you disciple, your career, your business, your character? Your expectations of harvest must be a function of what you have sown.
It is not about given God a sum of money and expecting to reap higher percentage of it, it is not a ponzi scheme!
It is sowing in the spirit that would will reap us eternal life.
What have you invested in? Those children you neglect today, could become your terror tomorrow, are you feeding them proper spiritual food? Those you ignore to evangelize today could become a terror tomorrow, they could even rise up to become policy makers that could bring policies that will make your serving God a nightmare. That character of yours you are refusing to submit to the Spirit today could be the smear that will irritate your glory as you rise up in life.
Sow rightly.
He calls us blessed.

May we continue to be blessed with the spirit of sowing good seeds in our lives. May the Lord cast away the spirit that may lure us to do evil or think evil from our lives. Amen 🙏
