WE CAN'T AFFORD TO MISS IT
1 Peter 3:8-9
Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.
Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.
This is the general principle:
* one mind - focused on Christ and His will;
* empathy - for you must care for one another;
* love - God's own nature, which should be yours too;
* tender heart - for the wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God
* humility - for God hates the proud
* forgiveness - for we all need the forgiveness of God and He has indeed forgiven us
* Bless, do not curse - for that is what God has called us to do.
We know that when we are made citizens of God's kingdom, we are not changed immediately, but we are transformed day after, it will be at the resurrection or ascension that our bodies will be fully changed.
We have a life to live here, and that life matters!
Thus we must align to our kingdom nature.
For this is a fact:
1 Peter 3:12
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers.
But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.”
Let no one lie to you - Our nature is good.
1 John 3:9,19-20,23-24
Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.
Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.
Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.
And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us.
Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
Believers miss it when they live a strange life, different from the one we have in Christ Jesus, remember we FOLLOW. . .
How can you follow and then walk a different or strange part?
No, we walk by the Spirit of the Heavenly Father.
John 10:27-30
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.
The Father and I are one.”
We must understand that the good we do is also for our own good health and peace of mind:
1 Peter 3:10-11
For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.
Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
Everything about the believer is light, yes, it is good and there should be no darkness.
John 12:46
I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark.
Glory to God, we will walk in the light we will not miss it. So help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
