PRIESTS!

Hosea 4:1-4
Hear the word of the Lord, O people of Israel!
The Lord has brought charges against you, saying:
“There is no faithfulness, no kindness, no knowledge of God in your land.
You make vows and break them; you kill and steal and commit adultery.
There is violence everywhere— one murder after another.
That is why your land is in mourning, and everyone is wasting away.
Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea are disappearing.
“Don’t point your finger at someone else and try to pass the blame!
My complaint, you PRIESTS, is with you.

Before we continue, please be reminded:

2 Timothy 3:15-17
You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Remember the writers of the new testament confirmed the revelations and prophesies in the Old Testament, they often times quoted them.

Now who is a priest? He serves as a link between man and a deity. Did we have priests in the scriptures? Yes. Did we have priests, when the church began? No. Do we have priests today?...

What did Christ give to the church? -

Ephesians 4:11-14
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.
Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.
This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.

So what ever name you call them, those are the five fold ministry.

Back to priests, when we say priest in a family or household, we refer to spiritual leadership. Who the Heavenly Father recognizes as the spiritual leader.

It is thus not literal but a form of leadership in our interaction with the Heavenly Father. Thus christian leaders ought to serve a priesthood function, however not replacing Christ, for He is the Chief Priest.

Hebrews 4:14-15
So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.
This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.

So be careful! - priests!

People could say, why do you attack the clergy so much, why do you chastise church leaders?

Sorry, Not me, but the Heavenly Father, for who did Christ come heavy on when He was here on earth - religious leaders.

Wait a minute: if the people err, who is to blame? The leaders, for they have the authority. They ought to instruct the people, they are to guide them aright.

Hosea 4:7-9
The more priests there are, the more they sin against me.
They have exchanged the glory of God for the shame of idols.
“When the people bring their sin offerings, the priests get fed. So the priests are glad when the people sin!
‘And what the priests do, the people also do.’ So now I will punish both priests and people for their wicked deeds.

So, are you a priest? Hello, if you have come to Christ you are. Yes:

1 Peter 2:9
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Do you know your jurisdiction? Are you doing well?

One of the greatest err any believer will make is to feel that they could keep doing wrong and keep getting away with it. By default, wrong has been assigned punishments, so you do not have immunity no matter who you are. No one is excused to err. The more privilege you receive from God, the more is expected from you.

Luke 12:47-48
“And a servant who knows what the master wants, but isn’t prepared and doesn’t carry out those instructions, will be severely punished.
But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.

Colossians 3:25
But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.

Colossians 3:25
But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

You who claim that the Lord has trusted you with much, even if it is just earthly children, you must be ready to be committed to that He has entrusted to you. For it is easy and sweet to aspire for places of leadership, to be exalted, however are you ready for the task? Can you fulfil the role.

1 Corinthians 9:27
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

Leadership is commitment, it has work in it, it has accountability:

Luke 12:42
And the Lord replied, “A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.

The Lord will guide us aright.

May we continually please Him.

He calls us blessed.

Love
@the watcher.
