ADJUST TO YOUR NEW LIFE STYLE

1 Peter 1:13-15
So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.
So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then.
But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.

Salvation is simply a new citizenship, you are born again:

John 3:3,5,7
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.
So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’

This is truth, for without spiritual rebirth there is no place for one in God's kingdom.

This is why Peter began his letter this way:

1 Peter 1:1-2
This letter is from Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ.I am writing to God’s chosen people who are living as foreigners in the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.
God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace.

For rebirth is done by God's Spirit, however the part man plays is faith. Faith made Abraham who he was with God, same with Noah and all those who walked with God, for:

Hebrews 11:6
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

So when you have believed, and are reborn, what next?

You adjust to your new life:

1 Peter 1:15-16
But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.
For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”

You have a new identity thus you are separated for a new life, and that life must be in the nature of the Heavenly Father.

Just as Paul wrote:

Romans 12:1-2
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

We adjust to Christ nature day after day, becoming more and more like Him.

2 Corinthians 3:18
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Glory to God.

We live the new life, the  life of the Heavenly Father. Halleluyah.

So many things will come to negate what has happened to us or who we are, but we are not moved, for we are more than conquerors.

1 Peter 1:7
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

Have we missed it? We are yet alive, thus we can adjust. Have we been living the life? Praise God, we get better by the day and thus motivate others to live that life. It always works for good.

Glory to God, we have a new life, we are victorious.

He calls us blessed.
