THE SACRIFICES
Exodus 29:24-25,36,38-39,42
Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons to be lifted up as a special offering to the Lord.
Afterward take the various breads from their hands, and burn them on the altar along with the burnt offering. It is a pleasing aroma to the Lord, a special gift for him.
Each day you must sacrifice a young bull as a sin offering to purify them, making them right with the lord. Afterward, cleanse the altar by purifying it; make it holy by anointing it with oil.
“These are the sacrifices you are to offer regularly on the altar. Each day, offer two lambs that are a year old, one in the morning and the other in the evening.
“These burnt offerings are to be made each day from generation to generation. Offer them in the Lord's presence at the Tabernacle entrance; there I will meet with you and speak with you.
When you read through all the preparation, the very strenuous exercises, practices, sacrifices etc that should be done before the priests and the people could come to the presence of the Lord, you once again appreciate what Christ did for us. For as you read on you see how this has to be done again and again, the Lord needed them to be conscious of Him continually.
THANK YOU FATHER FOR THE ONCE AND FOR ALL SACRIFICE OF YOUR SON.
Hebrews 7:26-28
He is the kind of high priest we need because he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and has been given the highest place of honor in heaven.
Unlike those other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins.
The law appointed high priests who were limited by human weakness. But after the law was given, God appointed his Son with an oath, and his Son has been made the perfect High Priest forever.
The sacrifice had to be a sweet smelling savour to the Lord:
Exodus 29:41
Offer the other lamb in the evening, along with the same offerings of flour and wine as in the morning. It will be a pleasing aroma, a special gift presented to the Lord.
Christ became all that and more for us:
Ephesians 5:2
Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
People then ask, what is now expected of us?
Answer: To follow Him and live in love.
Mark 12:33
And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love [his] neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
Hebrews 13:16
But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
1 Peter 2:5
And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.
Romans 12:1-2
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Thus we are living sacrifices to the Lord, as He died we died, as He rose we rise, to dwell with the Father forever. We live His victory, the enemy has no place in our lives, neither sin or death. We submit to the Heavenly Father. This is truth, each day the enemy and the flesh tries to take this truth from us because we are still in this earthly suit. However we would not succumb for we have faith. We will continue to live here and conquer, for we have more right here than he does. Glory to God. We are victorious.
Thank you dear Lord for the sacrifice, we dedicate ourselves to you. We are grateful.
He calls us blessed.
