TERMS OF AGREEMENT?

Exodus 24:3,7
Then Moses went down to the people and repeated all the instructions and regulations the Lord had given him. All the people answered with one voice, “We will do everything the Lord has commanded.”
Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it aloud to the people. Again they all responded, “We will do everything the Lord has commanded. We will obey.”

One of the major causes of failure is lack of knowledge. This is not about knowing the letters but understanding the texts. Thus we see so many who claim to know the scriptures but live like those who are powerless. The difference is "faith".

For many may be gathered in one place listening, but it takes those who have faith to capture the power that comes from the spoken word:

Romans 10:17
So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

This is key, for Moses read the instructions of the Lord to the people and they replied:

“We will do everything the Lord has commanded.”

Now the question is the same one Philip asked the Ethiopian eunuch:

Act 8:30b
Understandest thou what thou readest?

For if the people did understand the word, he would have provoked faith in them.

We who have received a greater covenant, do we understand the terms of our agreement, or are we walking with a different constitution? Are we yet carnal, followers of men or religion?

Hebrews 12:22-24,28
No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering.
You have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect.
You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.
Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.

Not a physical ceremony as we see of old but a spiritual unshakable kingdom.

2 Corinthians 5:7
For we live by believing and not by seeing.

We receive the Spirit, and this is how we worship the Heavenly Father, not by physical things as we see in the laws but spiritual, with a sincere heart.

David had an understanding of this:

Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

For Luke 16:15 reminds us that God looks at the heart.

This is why Jesus said:

John 4:23-24
But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.
For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

This was the new covenant, this was eternal life.

The present pandemic has forced many who have been blind to true spiritual worship, and have allowed physical practices, man worship, use of elements, ablution, so called holy sights, places, ceremonies and traditions - to see that all those are not what the Heavenly Father seeks:

The Heavenly Father is Spirit and we worship Him in Spirit, He asks us to come to Him through His Son directly any other thing is just a gimmick. (May the Lord give us understanding)

Thus the prayer of every leader for their followers and vice-versa should be:

2Thessalonians 3:5
And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Lord help us fully understand that which you have called us into. We love you Lord.

Jude 1:24-25
Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.
All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.

He calls us blessed.
