BLESSING FOLLOWS OBEDIENCE
Exodus 39:42-43
So the people of Israel followed all of the Lord’s instructions to Moses.
Then Moses inspected all their work. When he found it had been done just as the Lord had commanded him, he blessed them.
Obedience is the key when one walks with God. The joy children bring to their parents is walking in the statutes they have been taught to walk. Thus we bless them.
The reason for chaos in our world is disobedience, we recall that that the first sin of man that led to His fall was disobedience. Many that the Lord rejected was due to disobedience. For if you cannot follow instructions you cannot walk with the Heavenly Father.
What does obedience bring about? - blessings.
Exodus 19:5-6
Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.
And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’ This is the message you must give to the people of Israel.”
Deuteronomy 15:5-6
You will receive this blessing if you are careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today.
The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you.
Our instructions as believers today comes from Christ Jesus for He is the fulfilment of the law and prophets. He said it is finished, that is why it is wrong to think that there is any prophet after he has closed the lineage or think there is any other priest when he has become the Most High Priest. He has become the all in all.
1 John 3:23-24
And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us.
Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
The reason why many miss it, is that they do not know the purpose of the commandments:
1 Timothy 1:5-7
The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.
But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions.
They want to be known as teachers of the law of Moses, but they don’t know what they are talking about, even though they speak so confidently.
We must walk in obedience if we must please God. This is not self righteousness but sincerity of heart - Love. Then we enjoy His blessings in this life, however, more importantly, in the life to come.
He calls us blessed.
