FACING IT
Genesis 42:3
And Joseph's ten brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt.
What we are today is a function of our yesterday(s), thus our tomorrow would be a function of our today(s).
While they were taking all those wrong actions, displaying evil youthful exuberance, they did not have in mind the after effect, what they were accumulating for the future. If not that the Lord showed them mercy.
Believers are instructed to sow wisely that you may have peace in the future.
Is that not what your salvation is about? Selah
We received salvation that our eternity may be secured.
John 1:12
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
John 3:18
“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
We took the right step to guarantee eternal bliss. Halleluyah.
Thus the actions and decisions we take are to ensure that our tomorrow will find us in peace. For if you eat your seed when you ought to plant, what happens when harvest time comes - nothing to reap!
Some have abandoned training their children to pursue other things, some have left the study of the word of God and prayers to party and pleasure away, some have left their visions and dreams to envy other people's ambitions and dreams even to the extent of trying to pull them down. Remember there will be time to FACE IT!
Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
What have you sown, what are you sowing and what are you planning to sow? Remember, you will FACE IT!
Joseph's brothers sowed hatred against him. They left building on their own visions and dreams to envy that of their young brother, they allowed envy to push them even to think of killing him. Yes they have now grown and matured. They had to FACE IT.
Those children not brought up in the way of the Lord, who you have not trained to honour God and respect you. Now they have grown, you will have to FACE IT.
Galatians 6:8
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
When it was time to learn, to be trained, you prefer to live like the boss. When it is now time to use what you ought to have learnt you find yourself not prepared. YOU FACE IT.
WE MUST INVEST WISELY, WE MUST SET OUR PRIORITIES RIGHT!
I love the Heavenly Father for one thing among others - His mercy. No matter how much we have missed it, there is always a way we can get back on track once our heart is sincere.
Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Psalm 116:5
Gracious [is] the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God [is] merciful.
What are we FACING now, the Lord's mercy is released to us that we do not have to bear the full consequences of our wrong decisions, actions and inactions. Even those children we cry over, can become our reason for joy. For the Lord has the power over the heart of man. Those things, opportunities or time we thought we have lost, the Lord can still turn it around for our good. That is who He is, the Man of Wonders.
May we be wise, may we take the right actions, may we hear and understand as the Lord brings us into His perfect peace.
It is well.
He calls us blessed.
