PROMISE
Genesis 21:1-2
The Lord kept his word and did for Sarah exactly what he had promised.
She became pregnant, and she gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age. This happened at just the time God had said it would.
Two things, *it came to pass and *at the set time
Where we most times get it wrong as believers is the timing. For one very important attribute of anyone who walks with the Heavenly Father is patience. Almost all the times, our err is as a result of our inability to wait or exercise patience. Not that it is easy, but it is expedient.
2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in him [are] yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
The "bond woman" may mock you and look down on you now, for they feel that it has happened for them. Some will ask where is your God that you so faithfully serve. Remember:
Genesis 21:9-12
But Sarah saw Ishmael—the son of Abraham and her Egyptian servant Hagar—making fun of her son, Isaac.
So she turned to Abraham and demanded, “Get rid of that slave woman and her son. He is not going to share the inheritance with my son, Isaac. I won’t have it!”
This upset Abraham very much because Ishmael was his son.
But God told Abraham, “Do not be upset over the boy and your servant. Do whatever Sarah tells you, for Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.
Galatians 4:31
So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
The "bond woman" will not inherit the promise, it is for the free.
John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
The greatest promise of God to man is in the sacrifice of His Son.
For if there is a suffering for a believer it is only profitable if it is for their faith in God. For we are never to suffer for doing evil or meddling in other people's affairs. Thus if anyone decides to mock us, the Lord drives them away. They are the ones that will leave the scene.
The Lord promises to take care of us, Glory to His name:
Isaiah 54:17
But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed.
You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you.
These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!
Glory to God, we enjoy His promises.
He calls us blessed.
