HAVE YOU PASSED YOUR TEST?

Genesis 22:1
Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called.“Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”

Reading from the KJV you would see the word "tempt", however that word actually reads test, it is likely the words were interchanged in the first use of English.

We must understand that the Lord tempts no one with evil for He cannot also be tempted with evil.

James 1:13
And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.

However everyone must prove what they claim. For it is one thing to say, it is another to be. For to be, you must have proved that you are. Selah

Galatians 6:4-5
Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.
For we are each responsible for our own conduct.

From creation everyone has to prove their authority. The first Adam failed! He could not prove his authority, so he lost it.

We must understand that every temptation is a test. For while the enemy is tempting you the Lord tests you. For concerning Job the enemy was tempting - thus the torment, however God was proving Him. For He permits it, that we will come forth triumphant. Then promotion comes. Halleluyah.

For the enemy was tempting Christ, persecuting Him, even leading to His death, however God's plan of salvation was worked out.

Colossians 2:15
[And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Remember, if there is no war then there is no victory. Victory comes because a battle had been fought.

What are you facing now, remember that you must win. Never give in, for your test will prove you. The Lord never allows us to face temptation that we cannot handle!:

1 Corinthians 10:13
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

Abraham's faith did not waver, he had taken his only son up to be sacrificed. He didn't know how it would eventually work out, he just had faith:

Genesis 22:6-8
So Abraham placed the wood for the burnt offering on Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them walked on together,
Isaac turned to Abraham and said, “Father?”“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.“We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?”
“God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together.

Do we still have this type of faith, with the mad rush for earthy wealth, as if we will live on earth forever. The type of compromises believers make, acting as if the Lord cannot help them. Even those who ought to know, have missed it, they fuel the mass rush, thinking they help believers, however the result are believers who have no faith.

Before you make that boast, make sure you have been tested and you passed.

The LORD will help and keep us.

Halleluyah.

He calls us blessed.

Love

  1. It takes the grace and support of God through the Holy spirit to defeat satan during temptation, Peter denied Jesus when the spirit of God wasnt with him. He initially thought that by canal ability, he would conquer but otherwise.
May the spirit of God keep guiding us against the deceit of satan. Amen
