CONSEQUENCES
Genesis 27:37-38
Isaac said to Esau, “I have made Jacob your master and have declared that all his brothers will be his servants. I have guaranteed him an abundance of grain and wine—what is left for me to give you, my son?”
Esau pleaded, “But do you have only one blessing? Oh my father, bless me, too!” Then Esau broke down and wept.
You have the power to make choices, however, you have no power over the Consequences!
Ordinary people think only of the now, but Wise people think of the after now, they consider the consequences of their decisions and actions.
Galatians 6:7-8
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
Thus we learn from the story of Esau and Jacob the reason for making the right decisions: we must know what is important.
Philippians 3:7-8
I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.
Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ.
The most important choice anyone could make, is the salvation we have in Christ Jesus, it is from this that any other thing makes meaning.
The consequences of rejecting the Heavenly Father's salvation through His Son, is so grave, it lasts through eternity.
John 3:16,18-19
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.
Have you made the right choices, have you accepted the Heavenly Father's salvation through His Son?
As we go on this year and beyond, may the Lord grant us the grace to make the right choices in every aspect of our lives.
Our consequences will be joyous and very positively rewarding. The Lord will forgive our previous mistakes and grant us grace to enjoy His victory, for we henceforth go forth to make the right choices. Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
