THE MERCIFUL GOD

Genesis 8:21-22
And the Lord was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things.
As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.”

Glory to God. It is recorded of that one time God flushed the earth of all living things except those that were preserved in the ark. The verses above took place when Noah, his family and the animals were able to come out of the ark after the water ceased to pour.

The Lord promised Himself not to destroy all living things again in that manner, for man was known to be wicked from childhood.

The question always remains, He is Almighty, why not wipe out man completely and create another specie that will be obedient, submissive and continually do good?

The love of the Father was still there.

Psalm 100:5
For the LORD [is] good; his mercy [is] everlasting; and his truth [endureth] to all generations.

Psalm 103:8
The LORD [is] merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

There were instances when the Lord wiped out people because of their sin "Sodom and Gomorrah" was a near example, however not the entire living being on earth and it is note to observe that it was not by water.

The children of Israel in the wilderness provoked the Lord so much that He wanted to wipe them out and raise another, Moses interceded on their behalf, and the Lord's mercy was released.

See, He is God. . . we must get this into our head. Selah

The greatest of His mercy was released when He sent His Word to come heal our diseases, reveal Him to all that believe and to die to set us all free and give us a place with the Heavenly Father, thus that which we lost we receive in a greater measure.

However, read the verse again - Genesis 8:22, the earth will not remain forever. There will be a new heaven and a new earth. When God will make all things new and those who put their trust in Him will live in peace for everlasting.

Revelation 21:1
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 Peter 3:10-13
But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.
Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live,
looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames.
But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.

In all, those who trust in the Lord will rejoice in the new He has created. His mercy will be released on us, both for now and the end to come. Glory be to God.

1 Peter 1:3-5
Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

He calls us blessed.
