HIS ATTENTION

Genesis 5:24
And Enoch walked with God: and he [was] not; for God took him.

Acts 10:1-2,30-31
In Caesarea there lived a Roman army officer named Cornelius, who was a captain of the Italian Regiment.
He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God.
Cornelius replied, “Four days ago I was praying in my house about this same time, three o’clock in the afternoon. Suddenly, a man in dazzling clothes was standing in front of me.
He told me, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been noticed by God!

The problem of man is in his trying to be independent of his creator, directly or indirectly. For some claim to be of the fold, while consciously or unconsciously they follow a personal agenda, while some outrightly say they are not interested in submitting to the Heavenly Father.

Matthew 7:20
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

However from creation we know that the Lord had always sought for those whose heart were right. Those who showed His character: Love.

These people had Him first in their heart thus they could bear good fruit just as we read concerning Enoch and Cornelius. Enoch was so engrossed in God that the bible said he was not, for God took him.

See the way NLT put it:

Genesis 5:24
walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.

After him I do not know of any record of anyone who had such an intense obsession(hope this is the right word) for God.

Today we hear so many people claim that they know God, they are sent by God, they hear from God etc, yet they cannot even measure up to the least of the great men and women mentioned in the old testament. What we have today are noise makers, powerless motivational speakers, mammon conscious self acclaimed prophets and power hungry hypocrites. Many were not actually called!

However there are so many sincere focused leaders, may they never derail and may those who have lost their track, find God's mercy and return back in humility to the truth.

It got to a time that Jesus said: A greater than Solomon is here!

Matthew 12:42
The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon [is] here.

How many Christians including the pope, bishops, general overseers, pastors, teachers, ministers and what ever title holders we have today can even measure up to the least of the prophets of old. What of with great patriarchs like Abraham, Joseph, David, Daniel, Nehemiah etc.

Some cannot even challenge the Pharisees and Sadducees, for they cannot even boast that they are better than them.

What is the problem?

Do we really seek His attention? Is He the one that matters, or we just want all for ourselves?

Psalms 14:2-3
The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race;
He looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.
But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt.
No one does good, not a single one!

Are we really seeking the Heavenly Father, is He our priority? Do we call His name and yet refuse to depart from iniquity? Are we lording over others as Jesus warned about the people of the world, or is our drive God = Love?

Luke 22:24-27
Then they began to argue among themselves about who would be the greatest among them.
Jesus told them, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called ‘friends of the people.’
But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.
Who is more important, the one who sits at the table or the one who serves? The one who sits at the table, of course. But not here! For I am among you as one who serves.

It is time for all believers to refocus, no matter the title or position we hold. No matter how long we have claimed to know Him. We must truly seek Him, for of course He is unsearchable, we get to know Him better day after day. Glory to God.

1John 5:20
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

I love the warning in the next verse, that is what takes our attention from Him:

1John 5:21
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Dear Father grant us the grace this year to be totally surrendered to you, we know we have dreams and goals, we have visions and targets to achieve or meet, please let them not be away from you. We love you so much, may we never cease to have your attention for good. Let the power of your resurrection take over, that we may do more exploits than your people of old. So help us good Lord.

Thank you for calling us blessed.

Love
@the watcher.
