DRAW CLOSER
Genesis 3:8
And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
Hebrews 10:22
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
For man who God created was to continually be ready for the Lord's presence, basking in His glory, however something spoilt it, sin.
It is not that God did not reach out, no, He did and He still does, however it is for man to chose Him. He said His hand is not shortened to bless but iniquity stands in the way.
Isaiah 59:1&2
Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.
For the bible says that whom you choose to obey, is whom you have chosen to serve.
Romans 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
So it does matter what you say, it does matter what you do, it does matter whom you associate with. For your life bears a record.
Romans 2:4-7,11
Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?
But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.
He will judge everyone according to what they have done.
He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.
For God does not show favoritism.
And for we to please Him, we need to be close to Him, His nature rubs on us, His Spirit indwells in our spirit.
John 8:29
And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
This should be our testimony too.
Glory to God.
He calls us blessed.
